Basketball Recap: Medford Tech Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Medford Tech posted their closest victory since January 22, 2024 on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the KIPP Cooper Norcross Titans 74-72. Winning may never get old, but the Jaguars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Medford Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nesta Rice led the charge by going 9 of 18 on his way to 22 points and seven rebounds. Rice's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Branson, who went 5 for 12 en route to 16 points.

Medford Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive games.

Medford Tech's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-8. As for KIPP Cooper Norcross, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
