Baseball Recap: Paxton Comes Up Short

If Paxton was riding high fresh off their 18-6 takedown of Bethlehem last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bobcats lost 10-2 to the Destin Sharks on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sharks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 back in March.

Paxton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Varnum, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Varnum has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Paxton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Destin, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-12.

Looking ahead, Paxton will venture away from home to take on Baker at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Destin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
