Softball Recap: Richmond Senior Comes Up Short

Richmond Senior came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-6 to the Anson Bearcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-5 back in March.

Lexi Smith made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Sydney Barnes also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Richmond Senior has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Anson, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-14.

Richmond Senior wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-11 win against Overhills on the 21st. As for Anson, they have also already played their next contest, a 1-0 victory against Forest Hills on the 21st.
