Baseball Game Preview: Brooklyn Hurricanes vs. Triway Titans

The Brooklyn Hurricanes are taking a road trip to take on the Triway Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Brooklyn beat Euclid 6-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hurricanes.

Aiden Starr made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Brooklyn's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 2-13 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gio Garst, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Tyler Cox, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Triway came tearing into Monday's contest with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Warriors. Considering the Titans have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Triway's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Brooklyn, their record now sits at 6-14.
