Volleyball Recap: New Riegel Comes Up Short

New Riegel lost against Clyde back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Blue Jackets fell 2-0 to the Fliers.

While New Riegel was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-20.

Addison Theis paced New Riegel's offense, picking up seven kills. Theis got some help from Lilly Schalk and her eight assists. Ava Wensink controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

New Riegel dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Clyde, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, New Riegel will face off against Old Fort at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Blue Jackets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Clyde, they will square off against Mohawk at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
