Recap: Hartshorne Miners vs. Talihina Golden Tigers
The Hartshorne Miners waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They snuck past Talihina with a 59-53 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Hartshorne, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Talihina's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaidon Potts, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Ramses Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Hartshorne's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. As for Talihina, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hartshorne the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Stigler at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Stigler is ranked 146th, while Hartshorne is ranked 138th). As for Talihina, they will be playing at home against Pocola at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pocola knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten contests -- so hopefully Talihina likes a good challenge.
