Volleyball Recap: Lamar Falls to Centauri in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Lamar had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Centauri Falcons on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Thunder were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-15, 25-23.

Addy Krug paced Lamar's offense, picking up six kills. Krug got some help from Abygail Gonzales and her 18 assists. Gonzales and Krug were also some pesky defenders, as each blocked two attacks.

Centauri was led to victory by Kaylee Smith and Lauren Gallegos. Smith had nine digs and two assists, while Gallegos had six digs and three aces. That's the most digs Smith has posted since back in November of 2024.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will take on Woodland Park at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Centauri, they will challenge Delta at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
