Soccer Game Preview: Squalicum vs. Sehome

Squalicum has won seven straight games at home, while Sehome has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Storm will host the Mariners at 7:00 p.m.

Squalicum is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Meridian just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 3-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Squalicum came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Meridian are ranked 164th).

Meanwhile, Sehome kept a clean sheet against Nooksack Valley on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Pioneers with a sharp 7-0 victory. Sehome might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by three goals or more this season.

Squalicum's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 10-1-2 and their overall record down to 11-2-2. As for Sehome, their win bumped their record up to 13-0-2.

Squalicum came out on top in a nail-biter against Sehome in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Storm have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mariners turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
