Yough lost to Southmoreland back in April of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Cougars blew past the Scotties 9-2. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.

Jaidyn Vay spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Yough let Erin Reisinger and Brooke Kowalski run wild. Reisinger went 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Kowalski went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Anna Lindner, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Yough kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory (which was Yough's third in a row) raised their record to 5-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.
