Baker suffers seventh straight loss at home

Recap: Baker Bobcats vs. UIC College Prep Firecats

This season hasn't been kind to the Baker Bobcats, who are still winless after their eighth game. They were dealt a 77-27 defeat at the hands of UIC College Prep on Monday. Baker has not had much luck with UIC College Prep recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

UIC College Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Adam Matthews out in front who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Matthews continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Andre Boone, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.

Baker dropped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.3 points per game. As for UIC College Prep, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baker will challenge DRW College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for UIC College Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against Noble Street College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
