Baseball Game Preview: Forest Bearcats vs. Columbia Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Forest Bearcats take on Columbia Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Forest has given up an average of 11.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Forest is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They came up short against Lake, falling 17-3.

Forest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Quigley, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Columbia came up short against St. Stanislaus on Friday and fell 4-1. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Forest's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Columbia, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Forest has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Columbia struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Forest suffered a grim 15-3 defeat to Columbia in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Forest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
