Basketball Recap: Challis Comes Up Short

Challis was the 52-41 winner over Watersprings when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Challis Vikings took a blow against Watersprings on Saturday, falling 69-37. The matchup marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Defeat or not, Challis got some senior leadership from Jacen Farr and Jayden Sheppard. Farr posted 14 points, while Sheppard earned seven points. What's more, Farr also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Watersprings to victory, but perhaps none more so than Korban Nelson, who went 10 for 15 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds. Titus Driver was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Challis and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Watersprings, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Challis will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Rockland at 7:00 p.m. As for Watersprings, they will head out to challenge American Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Watersprings' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
