Basketball Game Preview: Osceola Bulldogs vs. McCool Junction Mustangs

The Osceola Bulldogs will head out to square off against the McCool Junction Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Osceola earned a 65-55 victory over Deshler.

Osceola relied on the efforts of Kelby Neujahr, who went 11-for-17 en route to 31 points in addition to six assists and five boards, and Boston Hinkle, who went 8-for-15 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds. Neujahr is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 17 games he's played. Brayden Santos was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, McCool Junction waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 69-43 margin over the Eagles. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 25 points or more this season.

McCool Junction's win came from a few key players Osceola will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Carson Mcdonald, who went 8-for-19 to rack up 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Mcdonald, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Osceola's record now sits at 14-11. As for McCool Junction, their record now sits at 19-5.

Osceola came up short against McCool Junction in their previous matchup back in January, falling 65-56. Can Osceola avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
