Preview: Middleton Tigers vs. King Lions
The Middleton Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the King Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Middleton fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Sickles by a score of 15-7 on Friday.
Middleton found their leader in underclassman Joshua Balloon, who rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Balloon was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards.
Middleton's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Joseph Doston and his three sacks.
King can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game two weeks ago. They didn't even let Chamberlain onto the board and left with a 15-0 win. The victory was just what King needed coming off of a 29-3 loss in their prior contest.
Middleton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season. As for King, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
Middleton took a serious blow against King in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 35-7. Will Middleton have more luck at home instead of on the road?
