Senior guard poured in over 30 points per game for Wheeling Park.

Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school girls basketball. The tradition continues to close out the 2024-25 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.

Alexis Bordas of Wheeling Park (Wheeling) is the 2024-25 West Virginia MaxPreps Player of the Year. Earning the state's highest honor for the third consecutive season, the 5-foot-8 senior guard led the Patriots to a 15-9 mark and Region 1 AAAA final appearance.

For the season, Bordas averaged 33.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 2.0 assists per game.

A three-time first team All-State pick, Bordas was the MVP of last season's AAAA tournament after leading Wheeling Park to its first banner since 1999. She leaves the school as its all-time leading scorer with 2,606 points.

Bordas signed with Duquesne in November.

Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team, which is scheduled to be released in April. Past selections include 2024 WNBA Most Valuable Player A'ja Wilson (2014) as well as 2024 All-WNBA first team picks Caitlin Clark (2020), Napheesa Collier (2015), Breanna Stewart (2012) and Alyssa Thomas (2010).
