Baseball Game Preview: Del Valle Conquistadores vs. El Dorado Aztecs

The Del Valle Conquistadores will face off against the El Dorado Aztecs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. El Dorado took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Del Valle, who comes in off a win.

Del Valle took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Riverside as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Conquistadores needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

ISAAC PADILLA was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, ISAIAH GONZALEZ was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was EDGAR VASQUEZ, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, El Dorado unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 8-4 to Hanks.

El Dorado also got a good showing from Espen French, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, El Dorado saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Issa, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Aaron Gamez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Del Valle is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for El Dorado, their loss dropped their record down to 11-16.
