Baseball Recap: Easton's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Easton dropped their record down to 10-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Queen Anne's County Lions. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 12-6.

Dylan Cassell and Michael O'Connor stepped up to the plate in a big way. Cassell went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double, while O'Connor went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Colin Mooney was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

As for Queen Anne's County, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games.

On Queen Anne's County's side, Travis Sutch was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Sutch is becoming a predictor of the Lions' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Brenden Parsley also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Easton will head out to take on Bennett at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Clippers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Queen Anne's County, they will venture away from home to square off against Parkside at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
