Basketball Game Recap: Bixby Spartans vs. Union Redhawks

Bixby lost against Union last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bixby Spartans might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 78-49 to the Union Redhawks, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Redhawks are ranked 14th).

Bixby's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-19. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points over those games. As for Union, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-5.

Bixby has already played their next match, an 82-80 win against Muskogee on the 15th. As for Union, they will head out on the road to take on Owasso at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Union's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
