Basketball Recap: Banquete Comes Up Short

Banquete lost against Hebbronville back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Banquete Bulldogs took a 49-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hebbronville Longhorns. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hebbronville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeffery Shreve, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. That's the most boards Shreve has posted since back in November of 2024. Alexavier Gutierrez was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.

Banquete's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Hebbronville, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-16.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Orange Grove the next time they take the court. Hebbronville will host Orange Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Banquete will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
