Recap: Slidell Tigers vs. West Jefferson Buccaneers
Even though the West Jefferson Buccaneers scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, the Slidell Tigers still came out on top. Slidell put the hurt on West Jefferson with a sharp 82-59 victory. Given Slidell's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while West Jefferson is ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Slidell was led to victory by Jaden Hookfin and Mike Parlow. Hookfin dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Parlow scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Bonnaffons , who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Slidell's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for West Jefferson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Slidell will take on Belle Chasse at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Belle Chasse has insisted on making their lastfive contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-2 during that stretch of close contests. As for West Jefferson, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Warren Easton at 6:30 p.m. on December 11th.
