Basketball Recap: Cherokee Comes Up Short

Cherokee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 47-24 to Waukomis. While losing is never fun, Cherokee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while Waukomis is ranked 108th).

Cherokee's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Waukomis, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Cherokee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 29-20 defeat against Timberlake on the 16th. As for Waukomis, they have also already played their next contest, a 48-46 loss against Pioneer-Pleasant Vale on the 16th.
