It was a good run, but West County unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Diamond Wildcats by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since April 5, 2024.

Maylee Merrill was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Patterson, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

West County's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Diamond, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West County will square off against Scott City at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Diamond, they will face off against Lamar at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
