Basketball Recap: Fairmont Senior Comes Up Short

Fairmont Senior was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. The game between them and the Spring Mills Cardinals didn't end well, with the Fairmont Senior Polar Bears falling 58-41. While losing is never fun, the Polar Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Cardinals are ranked 27th).

Spring Mills had a senior duo take command as Bri King posted 15 points and Kilah Dandridge earned 13 points. Those 15 points gave King a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rayleigh Miller, who scored eight points.

Fairmont Senior's record now sits at 6-15. As for Spring Mills, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairmont Senior will host Tucker County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Tucker County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Spring Mills, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Smithsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
