Softball Recap: Carlyle Indians/Lady Indians vs. Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Eagles
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carlyle). Everything went their way against the Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Eagles on Friday as Carlyle made off with a 23-1 win. The Indians/Lady Indians have beaten the Eagles the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.
Avery Eversgerd made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Eversgerd was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Carlyle got a massive performance out of Kyra Beckemeyer, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave Beckemeyer a new career-high.
