Recap: Natoma Tigers vs. Pike Valley Panthers
The Natoma Tigers struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (the Pike Valley Panthers had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Natoma had to suffer through a rough 75-15 loss at the hands of Pike Valley. Natoma has struggled against Pike Valley recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Natoma still got an impressive performance from Jackson Young, who scored ten points. That was a full 66.7% of Natoma's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Andrew Cooper continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pike Valley, scoring 26 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cooper has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Massell, who scored ten points along with five assists and three blocks.
Natoma's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-11. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.7 points per game. As for Pike Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Natoma will be playing at home against Rock Hills on Tuesday. Hopefully Natoma focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Tuesday. As for Pike Valley, they will be playing at home against Lincoln on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lincoln comes in on three and Pike Valley on five.
