Gilmer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Carthage Bulldogs. The Buckeyes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carthage to victory, but perhaps none more so than Meriyah Lopez, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine steals. Those nine steals gave Lopez a new career-high. Jakayla Teague was another key player, putting up six points along with 17 rebounds and three steals.

Gilmer's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Carthage, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-13.

Gilmer will head out to square off against Pine Tree at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Carthage, they will welcome Spring Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Spring Hill will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Carthage surely won't give up without a fight.
