While Straughn's victory against Pike County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers won by a run and slipped past the Bulldogs 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

The team relied heavily on Eli Melvin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Matt Ashberry was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Straughn hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pike County struck out ten times.

Straughn's record now sits at 6-7. As for Pike County, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
