Soccer Game Preview: Bartram Trail vs. Navarre

The Bartram Trail Bears will face off against the Navarre Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bartram Trail's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Bartram Trail took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed two weeks ago. They won by a goal and slipped past Beachside 2-1. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Barracudas are ranked 80th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brooke Gosse was the driving force of Bartram Trail's attack as she scored both of Bartram Trail's goals, bringing her season total up to ten goals.

Meanwhile, Navarre had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it four two weeks ago. Everything went their way against the Wildcats as they made off with a 7-1 win. Considering the Raiders have won seven games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Navarre has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 48 goals over those nine matches. As for Bartram Trail, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1-2.

Everything went Bartram Trail's way against Navarre in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, as Bartram Trail made off with a 6-1 win. Will Bartram Trail repeat their success, or does Navarre have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
