League recap: Suffield Academy tops Williston Northampton to extend winning streak

Suffield Academy added to the longest winning streak in Colonial this week by beating Williston Northampton, 55-21. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.

Wilbraham & Monson Academy moved up to 46 from 208 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league.

Suffield Academy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Endy Sanchez threw for 63 and 1 touchdown and Drew Mahoney had 38 yards receiving. On the ground Brice McAllister chipped in 193 yards. CJ Moore helped Suffield Academy's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 25 yards.

Andrew Gamere's team's dynamic duo of Sanchez and Mahoney proved tough for the Wildcats to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Moore helped Suffield Academy's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 25 yards.

McAllister provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Tigers topped Williston Northampton. McAllister's favorite target this week was Mahoney, who caught 4 passes for 38 yards.

6-foot-4 quarterback Patrick Kehoe of Cheshire Academy is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,288. He has also thrown 14 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Sam Blake. The Williston Northampton star has 18 catches for 344 yards.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Mark Conroy's team takes on Pomfret School. The Wildcats are in third place, while the Griffins are in fifth place.

Canterbury was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from eighth to sixth in Colonial. Earlier in the week, the Saints defeated Westminster 20-12.
