Volleyball Game Preview: Central Dauphin Rams vs. Cumberland Valley Eagles

The Central Dauphin Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Cumberland Valley Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Central Dauphin comes in on three and Cumberland Valley on ten.

On Thursday, Central Dauphin made easy work of Central Dauphin East and carried off a 3-0 win.

Central Dauphin was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-21, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Cumberland Valley faced Exeter Township in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Cumberland Valley was the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Exeter Township.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 29-27, 29-27.

Central Dauphin better focus on containing Hayden Ackley and Isaiah Sibbitt as the pair were huge in Cumberland Valley's win. Ackley had 27 digs and two assists, while Sibbitt had three aces and one block. Sibbitt is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 24 or more in each of the last 26 games he's played dating back to last season. Avery Reynolds also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Cumberland Valley's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-0. As for Central Dauphin, their record now sits at 5-1.

Central Dauphin suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Cumberland Valley in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
