Upson-Lee lost to Lamar County back in February of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Knights who were credited with the victory. The Upson-Lee Knights got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Lamar County Trojans' four. The win was some much needed relief for Upson-Lee as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

David Ventura and Tanner Smith scored both of Upson-Lee's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Upson-Lee's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Lamar County, their defeat ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7.

Upson-Lee wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 4-0 win against Jones County on the 14th. As for Lamar County, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-0 victory against Luella on the 13th.
