Shadle Park won the last time they faced Gonzaga Prep and things went their way on Friday too. Shadle Park was the clear victor by a 21-11 margin over Gonzaga Prep. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Highlanders.

McKenzie Duncan was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and ten unearned) runs off ten hits. Duncan was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Madi Keon was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Ava Edgar also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Shadle Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gonzaga Prep only posted a batting average of .353.

Shadle Park now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Gonzaga Prep, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Shadle Park will face off against rival Central Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Gonzaga Prep is set to take on their familiar foe Mt. Spokane at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
