Lovejoy entered their tilt with Sherman on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Sherman Bearcats a 4-0 shutout. Given the Leopards' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Bearcats are ranked 544th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lovejoy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three matches. As for Sherman, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Looking ahead, Lovejoy will take on Anna at 7:15 p.m. on February 18th. As for Sherman, they will face off against McKinney North at 7:30 p.m. on February 18th. McKinney North's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Sherman's offense will have their work cut out for them.
