Softball Game Preview: Porter Spartans vs. La Grange Leopards

The Porter Spartans will take on the La Grange Leopards at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Porter will be strutting in after a win while La Grange will be coming in after a loss.

Porter's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over Tarkington. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Kami Hayes looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and only a hit over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Porter let Kylie Rose and Mckenna Rinewalt loose on the outfield. Rose went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Rinewalt went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Avery Evans-Pickens was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, La Grange fell victim to Lexington and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 10-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Leopards in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Porter came up short against La Grange in their previous meeting back in February of 2018, falling 5-1. Can Porter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
