Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask La Quinta). Everything went their way against the Compton Early College Rising Phoenix on Friday as they made off with a 34-14 win. The Aztecs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rising Phoenix, too.

La Quinta pushed their record up to 3-1-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Compton Early College, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, La Quinta is taking a road trip to square off against Bolsa Grande at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Aztecs their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Compton Early College, they will host Firebaugh at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rising Phoenix will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
