Volleyball Recap: Fletcher's Undefeated Season over After Three Games + How To Watch

If Fletcher was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Clay on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Senators fell 3-1 to the Fleming Island Golden Eagles on Thursday. The Senators were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

The 3-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Fletcher lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 22-25, 25-22, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Juliette Watson and Bella Shaffer, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Keely Pou and her 36 assists. Finally, Riley Bridda kept Fletcher's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Having lost for the first time this season, Fletcher fell to 2-1. As for Fleming Island, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Fletcher will welcome Bartram Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fleming Island, they will venture away from home to face off against Clay at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
