Basketball Recap: Logan Comes Up Short

Logan played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Morgan Trojans, falling 82-59. The Grizzlies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2017.

When it comes to explaining why Logan lost, don't look at Reed Olsen. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. Those 24 points gave Olsen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sade Nenbee, who went 5 of 12 en route to 12 points and six boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morgan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bracken Saunders, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 19 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolton Asay, who went 8 of 14 en route to 20 points and eight rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Logan and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Morgan, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Logan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-52 defeat against South Summit on the 7th. Morgan has also already played their next matchup, a 73-58 win against Clearfield on the 9th.
