Basketball Game Preview: Draughn Wildcats vs. St. Stephens Indians

The Draughn Wildcats are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the St. Stephens Indians at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Draughn is leaving town to face St. Stephens after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Wildcats took a blow against Newton-Conover on Friday, falling 77-35. The Wildcats were down 51-27 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led St. Stephens over Bunker Hill in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. The Indians blew past the Bears 75-53. The Indians not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since January 3rd (when they won 84-61).

Draughn took a serious blow against St. Stephens in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, falling 71-32. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
