Basketball Game Preview: Locke Saints vs. Hawkins Hawks

Locke is 2-8 against Hawkins since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Locke Saints will take on the Hawkins Hawks at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Locke is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game back in December of 2024. They were outmatched by Banning and fell 57-25.

Meanwhile, Hawkins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 51-39 loss to Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1270th, while the Tigers are ranked 453rd).

Hawkins' defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Locke, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Locke came up short against Hawkins in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 87-80. Can Locke avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
