Basketball Game Preview: Wayland-Cohocton Eagles vs. Dansville Mustangs

For the first time this season, Wayland-Cohocton will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will square off against the Dansville Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Wayland-Cohocton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Avon, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the River Hawks by a score of 46-43 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the River Hawks: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Dansville didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Letchworth on Monday, but they still walked away with a 68-62 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Dansville has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Wayland-Cohocton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Wayland-Cohocton won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January, slipping by Dansville 53-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
