Parkersburg won the last time they faced Nitro and things went their way on Friday too. The Parkersburg Big Reds sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 82-79 victory over the Nitro Wildcats. The win was familiar territory for the Big Reds, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Parkersburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nate Rodriguez, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 assists. Another player making a difference was Chandler Jackson, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Nitro's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ty Stephens 6'1 165Lbs, who shot 55% from beyond the arc en route to 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Crouch, who went 10-for-12 to rack up 23 points and seven boards.

Parkersburg's record now sits at 8-14. As for Nitro, their loss ended a 21-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-5.

Coming up, Parkersburg will take on Cabell Midland at 7:00 p.m. on March 7th. As for Nitro, they have already played their next game, a 45-39 defeat against Fairmont Senior on the 1st.
