Lyndon beats Burlingame for their eighth straight win

Recap: Lyndon Tigers vs. Burlingame Bearcats

The Lyndon Tigers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Burlingame 48-0 on the road. The result was nothing new for Lyndon, who have now won seven matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.

Tanner Heckel continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 104 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, while also throwing for 150 yards and a touchdown on only eight passes. Heckel is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last seven games he's played. Jalen Massey was another major influence, as he rushed for 53 yards and ran in a TD.

Lyndon's win was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 8-1 West Elk and 6-2 Cair Paravel (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 62.1% over those games). As for Burlingame, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Lyndon will look to defend their home field on Friday against Cedar Vale/Dexter at 7:00 p.m. Cedar Vale/Dexter is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Burlingame, they will head out on the road to face off against West Elk at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (West Elk is ranked 26th, while Burlingame is ranked 27th).
