Baseball Recap: Quitman Extends Winning Streak to Four

Quitman extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 11-9 in the process. They skirted past the West Side Eagles 12-10. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2022.

As for West Side, their defeat ended a 17-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 19-3. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this matchup were averaging 3.27 runs allowed.

For West Side's part, Brooks Hipp was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Hipp has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Gipson, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Quitman has already played their next contest (against Concord), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for West Side, they have also already played their next game, a 10-7 loss against Conway Christian on the 24th.
