Football Recap: Mt. Lebanon Takes a Loss

Mt. Lebanon extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They took a blow against the Central Catholic Vikings, falling 57-0. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Vikings are ranked sixth).

As for Central Catholic, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. That looming 57-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Central Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Alexander, who rushed for 68 yards and one score on only seven carries. That rushing touchdown was Alexander's first of the season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mt. Lebanon will square off against rival Canon-McMillan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Central Catholic is set to face off against their familiar foe Hempfield Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
