Basketball Game Preview: Washington Catholic Cardinals vs. Loogootee Lions

Washington Catholic hasn't had much luck against Loogootee recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cardinals challenge the Lions at 7:30 p.m. Washington Catholic has given up an average of 73.8 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Washington Catholic is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 23rd straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Evansville Day and fell 71-13.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Loogootee, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against North Knox by a score of 46-33 on Thursday.

Loogootee's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.6 points on average over those games. As for Washington Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-22.

Washington Catholic took a serious blow against Loogootee when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 80-11. Can Washington Catholic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
