Softball Recap: Ontario's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Ontario waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Galion Tigers 14-3. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won five games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Eden Howard and Ellie Dawson did most of the damage at the plate: Howard went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Dawson went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave Dawson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Weiler, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Ontario was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Ontario's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Galion, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.

Ontario wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 15-5 defeat against Triway on the 18th. As for Galion, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-1 victory against Bellevue on the 21st.
