Softball Recap: Brick Memorial Has No Trouble Against Lacey Township

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Brick Memorial and Lacey Township, and Brick Memorial kept the tradition alive. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Lions on Wednesday. The Mustangs not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 6, 2024.

Avery Nalducci was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Nalducci was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Carly Hobbs was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Giselle Lizardi was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

The win got Brick Memorial back to even at 2-2. As for Lacey Township, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brick Memorial will head out to square off against Freehold Boro at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Lacey Township, they will venture away from home to face off against Toms River North at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mariners have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
