Monticello put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Charleston Trojans as Monticello made off with a 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Sages, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Madison Highland, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Sadie Walsh, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Monticello always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .531 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Monticello pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Charleston, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Monticello will head out on the road to face off against St. Teresa at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Charleston, they will be playing at home against Flora at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Charleston is facing Flora at the right time seeing as Flora is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
