Basketball Game Preview: Albia Blue Demons vs. Cardinal Comets

The Albia Blue Demons will head out on the road to take on the Cardinal Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Albia has three straight victories, Cardinal has 19 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Albia earned a 53-43 win over Centerville.

Meanwhile, Cardinal had to suffer through a 74-22 loss at the hands of Davis County.

Albia is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.1 points per game. As for Cardinal, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-16.

Everything came up roses for Albia against Cardinal in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 76-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Albia since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
