The NFL Yet Academy Eagles had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They escaped with a win on Friday against Tempe Prep by the margin of a single free throw, 44-43. This was payback for NFL Yet Academy, who suffered a 67-62 defeat the last time these two teams met.
NFL Yet Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was RAUL LARA-CASTILLO, who scored 12 points. LARA-CASTILLO set a new season high mark in steals with two. The team also got some help courtesy of STANLEY HOLLEY, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
NFL Yet Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Tempe Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
NFL Yet Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Arizona Lutheran Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. After both having extra time off, Tempe Prep and Phoenix Country Day will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
